A Day in my Life as an HIM Student

(above picture of me and my best friend having lunch break)

Hello everyone,

This week has been a blast yet again and even better, the sun has finally emerged and the rain has passed…time to wear shorts and t-shirts again!

School is going well too and busy as always working on all my different projects, but it’s very fun and boy am I gaining a lot of knowledge. This week alone I learned a few new programming languages, handled successes and rejections with surveying businesses and communities and read a few books on different subjects.

Classes were cool and we even did an excursion to a local communications company. We presented our own countries and apparently I won a prize to meet a local Swiss family, have an operative with them and talk to them more about the USA. USA represent! ūüėÄ

I wanted to keep this blog writing short, because I recorded a short video for you that was also featured on the school’s Instagram page…. I hope you enjoy it and get a cool sneak peak as to a day in my life as a student here in Switzerland.

I can’t wait for this weekend and next week. Friday, we are having Tropical theme night with beer pong, karaoke and student bar and this weekend we are taking a trip to Europa Park, which will be amazing. It is one of the largest and best roller coaster parks in Germany and it’s going to be a blast.

Anyway… now off to do some more homework and get to bed. It’s getting late and I gotta wake up early tomorrow!

Have a great day and look forward to updating you next week on the great things ahead.

Is Europe Really That Beautiful? Like Switzerland?….

Have you travelled before?

Maybe to another town? Or state? Or even another country? ¬†Well most of you all know that every place, whether it’s a few miles or a few thousand miles away is different. They have a different culture and people and ways of dressing and eating.

What about Europe? Think for a moment….What do you think Europe is like?

And like what are some cool places to visit when you’re there? Today, Igor Travel’s Abroad will be about….

Ahh, the Alps and the Slopes and the Country Side houses! Just BeauTiFul!

Largest city Z√ľrich
Demonym Swiss
Government Federal multi-party directorial republic with elements of direct democracy

Switzerland (German: Schweiz; French: Suisse; Italian: Svizzera; Romansh: Svizra), officially the Swiss Confederation (Latin: Confoederatio Helvetica. That’s why the abbreviation is¬†CH), is a federal parliamentary republic consisting of 26¬†cantons, with Bern as the seat of the federal authorities, the so-called¬†Bundesstadt (“federal city”).¬†The country is situated in Western and Central Europe,¬†where it is bordered by Italy¬†to the south, France to the west, Germany to the north, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. Switzerland is a¬†landlocked country geographically divided between the Alps, the Swiss Plateau and the Jura, spanning an area of 41,285¬†km2 (15,940¬†sq¬†mi). While the Alps occupy the greater part of the territory, the Swiss population of approximately 8 million people is concentrated mostly on the Plateau, where the largest cities are to be found. Among them are the two¬†global cities and economic centres of Z√ľrich and Geneva.

Some famous places in Switzerland are Lake Geneva and the Alps. Many people go there for vacation, skiing, snowboarding and trying the local cheese and wine.

Here is a local Cafe, Vineyards and Lake Geneva from a video I took.

A wonderful place to stay during the Winter Season and containing some of the most beautiful slops, Gr√§chen/St. Nikolaus is a place everyone should visit. Maybe on a honeymoon or Christmas break, the scenery and local ski city is to die for. It’s also a great place for family and kids.

There’s nothing better than hitting the slopes at -25′

See that mountain above my hand? That’s the Paramount Pictures Mountain featured in the beginning of all those movies!

After looking around on the Internet, I compiled a few cool places in Switzerland that look cool to visit, or people I know have visited.

For all you¬†hikers, here are some beautiful Trails…

Of Course, let’s not forget the traditional Swiss Cheese and Chocolate!

How the cheese is made (really cool, short video!):

I hope you enjoyed the brief and quick post about Switzerland, home of cheese, chocolate, incredible ski slopes and a beautiful wine country. Maybe you might even make it a stop on your next trip to Europe with your family? Who knows?

Have a great day and Auf Wiedersehen.

Berlin, Berlin, were going to Berlin!

Time has flown by us so fast and in 10 minutes (5:40am) I will depart for the train station, to go to end-of-year in Berlin.

This year has just flown by and the time to spend with friends¬† and host-family decreases rapidly. There are just another three something weeks left. I must be going now, but I wanted to let you know what we’re doing.

In Berin, we will be meeting the German Bundestag (the place where all the representatives vote) as well as I heard maybe the Bundespr√§sident (President, not Chancellor) of Germany. We will also be discussing our year here and going to cool places, seeing great things, including, for me, the Capital of Germany and it’s history.

So off I go to have my host-dad take me to the train station.

Till Monday ūüėČ and Best Wishes,
