Igor Travels Abroad

"In the end, we only regret the chances we didn't take."

About Who?

This website is a blog of how I prepare, go and live in Germany for a year, with the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange Program. Please feel free to leave comments below, or contact me via the Contact Me page.

I am a teen student-pilot, track, cross-country, swimmer, tennis player and mountain biker. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling abroad, and doing things the typical teenager doesn’t even think of. I love living on our farm at home in the states with our goats, chickens, and White Pyrenees, Chloe and spending time hanging out with friends and family.

I enjoy mountain biking and long distance biking.

I love to run marathons (I have ran three)

Right before running the Run For The Red Marathon

and hanging out with my Friends

I have flown the Cessna 150, Cessna 172, Piper Warrior, and Piper 140 (actual planes I flew below). I currently fly the Piper Warrior II.

I enjoy traveling abroad!

Again, thank-you everyone who made this dream a reality and I hope you enjoy reading my blog. Please make sure to subscribe, if you haven’t yet!

  1. Hallo Igor!
    Congrats congrats congrats !
how did you get the departure date thingy on your blog? It’s so cool 😀

    • Well, if you are using Word Press, sign-in, open your page, go to the top left and hover your mouse over the blog name and click Dashboard. Then click on Appearance and Widgets. Find Milestone and click and literally drag it to the very left where it says “Sidebar” Click on the Extend Down button (The drop down arrow to the left of Milestone and edit it and enter the details such as departure date is the 8th of August etc. Hope this helps!!! Igor

  2. Hi Igor!
Here’s a totally random question, do you know why you were named Igor? It’s a very Russian name and I’m Russian so I was curious.

Other than that, your blog looks great, I’ll be following it from now on as I’m interested in how you go along with your own adventure.

I’m also going to Germany this Fall.
    Here’s where I’m at if you’re ever interested;

  3. Hi Igor,
Do you think I have higher than normal chances of getting into the CBYX program if I am a German citizen? I have a green card in the US and speak German fluently. I have straight A’s and will be going to high school next year. Do you think I have higher chances because of my language ability and German citizenship?
    Great blog, btw.

  4. Hello Igor,
It’s good to meet you. I always seek out About pages on blogs so I get to know a little about the blogger behind the blog, their purpose for the blog, and how frequently I can expect them to publish new posts. This is a good example of an informative About Page. Well done!
