Adapting to School Life

Well it’s been a couple weeks now and I finally feel like I’m starting to get into the rhythm of things. I’m getting to know and work with my classmates better, my schedule has stabilized a bit more and I’m starting to remember which class I have when, without looking at my calendar.

At the beginning of the week, we had a champagne masterclass that taught us the history of champagne as well as how to taste it and different types. I don’t really drink alcohol but it was an interesting thing to do. I even got a certificate from Champagne committee of France for my efforts so that was pretty cool.

Apart from the great classes and projects going on, we had a lot of extracurricular activities planned outside of school such as the masterclasses or real estate workshops with local entrepreneurs or even visiting local businesses and learning from the owners how the business is operated. In terms of projects, I have quite a lot, such as doing the marketing for an 80 person banquet, to creating a fully functional resort, founding departments within a hotel, sales surveys of local business, learning how to code and much more. But it is engaging and doesn’t get boring like traditional theoretical classes do at other schools.

Being quite entrepreneurial minded, I made new acquaintances in the space and even founded my own meetup for entrepreneurs of Switzerland to come and network every week and so far over 50 people have enrolled so that’s pretty neat.

Of course, when not working on school work and classes, I do get a lot of sports in such as running near the lake or working out in the gym which is nice or just relaxing in my room. It’s a nice education that I feel is just enough but balanced with enough free time to work on other things as well outside of school. I’m having fun socializing with my friends and spending time with them and getting to know new students.

I’d have to say the best part of this week was really having some nice free time in the evenings to think, learn new things, read and relax, it definitely was a good week. The weather though wasn’t the best, but I’m sure it will get better and have more of an opportunity to spend time outside.

Overall, next week will be a much more eventful week and I will definitely keep you all updated and take lots of photos of the new and exciting things such as our masterclasses, trips, meetups and regular student life.

Thanks again for reading and speak to you next week!
